This report from rt.com on the CitizenLab report confirms what many suspected... Digital rights group CitizenLab has discovered a vulnerability that allowed Israeli spyware company NSO Group to implant its Pegasus malware onto virtually every iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch device. CitizenLab revealed the vulnerability on Monday, a week after discovering it by analyzing the phone of a Saudi activist that had been infected with the malware. A document just released by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) openly admits that the infamous PCR test for the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) was developed not with actual samples of the Chinese Virus, but rather what appears to be genetic material from a common cold virus. Since the Fauci Flu in any of its “variant” forms has yet to be properly isolated, the FDA instead used regular cold/flu viruses to produce PCR tests – meaning everyone who tests “positive” for Chinese Germs is actually just testing positive for the seasonal flu. ... read full story / add a comment

Everyone is using Zoom these days from work conference calls to family chats and quizzes. It's the new shiny star of the Corona-virus era. It is a godsend to save us. Well it turns out it isn't. It's encryption is not true encryption and it just uses TLS which allows the Zoom corporation to intercept and decrypt video chats and other data. TLS is also used by WhatsApp which is owned by Microsoft, so that allows Microsoft to easily mine all the messages from the 1.5 billion or so users. This report on Zoom comes from the UK Tech Industry well known website TheReigster. Even though the report is from early April it is unlikely most people have been made aware of the full extent of the scandal. Since then Zoom have no doubt fixed some of the glaring security holes but it is highly likely they not want to stop getting the data they had access to, so it would be reasonable to assume they are still getting it by backdoor means and not transmitting it encrypted so that it will be far harder to uncover ... read full story / add a comment

Interesting long term data confirms that Australia is warming. Full text at link. In the first study of its kind in Australasia, scientists used 27 natural climate records to create the first large-scale temperature reconstruction for the region over the past 1,000 years. The study led by researchers at the University of Melbourne, used a range of natural indicators including tree rings, corals and ice cores to study Australasian temperatures over the past millennium. They then compared these with climate model simulations. Dr. Stephen Phipps, a researcher with UNSW’s Climate Change Research Centre and the Centre of Excellence for Climate System Science led the climate model simulation research. British prime minister David Cameron gave authorisation yesterday for Apache attack helicopters to start flying into Libya. It is expected that the helicopters will be deployed within 24 hours. Defence analyst Rear Admiral Chris Parry, said in an interview with the BBC this week that , if the Apaches were used for assault operations and in reinforcing the rebels in their attacks on the Gaddafi regime, it "could be seen as an escalation " of the western military intervention . Parry said that the helicopters’ electro-optics and command and control systems were their main strength . Google has added Irish Gaeilge, Yidish, Welsh, Belarussian, Macedonian, Afrikaans, Swahili, Mali and Icelandic to the suite of languages which its free online translation tool supports. The last upgrade to the list which currently offers 51 languages was the inclusion of Persian or Farsi, an update which we remember occured during the "green revolution" and allowed us all to follow events in Iran without paying to much attention to tweeting twits based in US lobby offices. Sometimes coincidences happen in a timely way, while at other times they appear to happen but are actually coordinated events. On Monday, the Tánaiste Mary Coughlan announced that Facebook, the popular social networking site, was setting up its head office for Europe in Dublin. Since Facebook doesn't actually make anything, it will have a negligible effect on the economy, but it sends the right sort of signal. At the same time (around midday on Monday) the profile page for the Shell to Sea campaign was removed from Facebook. Some Shell to Sea groups remain, but as anyone who uses Facebook will tell you, having a profile page is where the action is. Shell to Sea had a popular one, with lots of "friends" and activity on the page. It was very useful in spreading information about the campaign, especially outside Ireland. So Mary Coughlan goes on the radio to talk about Facebook and how its arrival in Ireland sends a strong signal. At the same moment, the Shell to Sea page is removed. The hacking of the "blood & honour" site and server was reported on the 30th of August, but now a breakdown of visits, posts, IP's, search terms and real world user location is available. Though this is a crosspost the long list of numbers & search terms might not at first highlight the Irish dimension. President Bush has signed an executive order which will allow the US military to shoot down one that country's satelites before its diminishing orbit means the loss of the Hydragin gas it holds. They say they're doing this to safeguard lives. Hydragin as we all might guess is a very dangerous substance. They're not saying they're doing this to have a bit of practise at a remarkably difficult exercise they have not officially admitted to having done before.
