"Sir, In recent times we have witnessed the ousting of two democratically elected presidents. The Egyptian president Morsi was deposed in an army coup, which, strangely, was not regarded elsewhere as a coup. Pro-Morsi demonstrators suffered about 800 casualties at the hands of the police and army. Little outside sympathy was shown towards the massacred and their families. ... read full story / add a comment

The key feature of the global landscape is the continuing stagnation of the centers of the global economy, the United States and the European Union. The promise of sustained recovery from the financial implosion has eluded the United States for over three years now while most of Europe remains mired in very deep recession, with the notable exception of Germany. ... read full story / add a comment

Pussy Riot, a Russian female punk band of recent notoriety, very much seems to have one tunnel vision goal—at least as reported to Western audiences by Western media—and that is to discredit and defame Russian President Vladimir Putin. The band name ‘riot’ is not hard to understand, as their supposed “art form” resembles a riot, as punk music often enough does; but it is more anti-music in its ear-splitting aggression. Behind scenes of this shallow morality play …lays larger political stories, pseudo-stories, propaganda, foreign inspired revolutions with plenty of American tax money being circulated to bribe public relations schemes and more lately accusations that even NGOs that supposedly care about human rights and the environment have been infiltrated to the point that their real mission is to engage in propaganda operations. ... read full story / add a comment

NO INNOCENT IRISH PEOPLE WERE FRAMED FOR THE MURDER OF AIREY NEAVE, THE MOST SENIOR BRITISH POLITICIAN EVER TO BE ASSASSINATED. The case remains ‘unsolved.’ ‘Unsolved,’ in 1970s parlance, means no innocent people were framed for it. But why? Why this departure from standard procedure in 1970s England? What was so special about Airey Neave - that they made an exception in his case? ... read full story / add a comment

Last night's Super Bowl has had the unintended consequence of bringing the 9/11 terror attacks back into the forefront of the public mind. The controversy began several months ago, when Seattle Sea Hawks coach Pete Carroll began voicing doubts about the nonsensical, official 9/11 conspiracy theory pushed by the US government and mainstream media. Carroll put many of the official conspiracies incongruities and alternate theory's to a retired, four star General Peter Chiarelli, a former US army Chief of Staff. ... read full story / add a comment

The military campaign of the Republican groups was a failure. Some of us said this would be the case from the start. But some of us who did so did not put enough emphasis on the need to struggle for an international solution to the problems facing Ireland. This article seeks to put this right. It also seeks to look at the North and borders and the future taking into account the changes that have taken place and considering alternatives. A socialist united Ireland? Is this possible if the socialist revolution does not start first in England, Scotland and Wales and spread to Ireland North and South? Is it possible that the revolution could unfold in a way that would leave significant divisions in the working class and make the move to a socialist united Ireland not immediately possible? Perhaps some sort of Canton system like exists in Switzerland would be necessary for a time. Can the socialist revolution start first in the North given the deep division made worse by the past 40 years.? ... read full story / add a comment
