@judas
whats this 'we' business?
its not a celebration its a commemoration of those who fought an died in a Easter week. its to keep the flame of rebellion alive.
judas, get active.
good luck rsf.

Today was a very sad reminder that we are a country that is by default under occupation. Not under occupation by British or french forces and not under occupation by german or eastern forces not even under occupation of American forces but worse than that we are under occupation by our own........ As I came from a late night of work this Saturday evening i noticed that the whole of O'Connell street was under occupation by the forces of our own state. In a country and society that in order to commemorate the lives that have been lost as a result of our successful retaliation against the imperial forces of the globe and namely the British we need to pose sanctions on the people of our own country to even walk down the street on such a day. I understand that for a parade to pass in procession certain restrictions must be put in place but to have an Irish man physically push me and tell me i must get of the street under section 21(cited below) of the criminal justice act. it is clear to me that we do not need not the imperial power of the British American or European powers or fascist government forces nor the communist dictatorships of the far east or the the so called socialist regimes of the soviets and not the brutal genocidal religious leaders of the middle east not even the savage war criminals of African nations or the relentless violence encouraged by the the south American revolutionaries to bring oppression to the people.... we seem to have created our own brand of repression in this crypto- fascist conservative nation that we seem to think is so free. As yourself was it for the removal of personal liberties that the great men of this country died and how many rights shall be infringed to uphold our pseudo democracy that is propped up the our two party right wing political system. Welcome to the world of technocratic/ bureaucratic Fascism which is hidden under a air of benevolence. We need an uprising in this country and not a voilen uprising with connotations of the 1916 rising but rather a peaceful resistance to our self imposed imperial repression. A peacefull resistance that stands with our friends in Britain, france, Germany, America, russia, lybia, Algeria, Syria, Nigeria or any nation who face great oppression by its own or outside forces. Dont mean to sound like a ranting lunatic but how have we let it go so far and in the words of the great pink flyod what happened to the post war dream.
"21.—(1) If it appears to a member of the Garda Síochána not below the rank of superintendent that it is necessary in the interests of safety or for the purpose of preserving order to restrict the access of persons to a place where an event is taking or is about to take place which attracts, or is likely to attract, a large assembly of persons (in this Part referred to as the “event”), he may authorise any member of the Garda Síochána to erect or cause to be erected a barrier or a series of barriers on any road, street, lane, alley or other means of access to such a place in a position not more than one mile therefrom for the purpose of regulating the access of persons or vehicles thereto.
(2) Where a barrier has been erected in accordance with subsection (1), a member of the Garda Síochána in uniform may by oral or manual direction or by the exhibition of any notice or sign, or any combination thereof—
(a) divert persons generally or particularly and whether in or on vehicles or on foot to another means of access to the event, including a means of access to that event on foot only, or

(c) indicate that to proceed beyond the barrier while in possession of any intoxicating liquor, disposable drinks container or offensive article will render such liquor, container or article liable to confiscation.
(3) A member of the Garda Síochána shall not prohibit a person from crossing or passing a barrier erected under this section save for the purpose of diverting the person to another means of access to the event, if it appears to the member that the person is seeking to do so for the purpose only of—
(a) going to his dwelling or place of business or work in the vicinity of the event, or
(b) going for any other lawful purpose to any place in the vicinity of the event other than the place where the event is taking place or is about to take place.
