Tuesday March 06, 2012 17:48 by Kev - IPSC
Responding to the Palestinian call for organisations to announce International Women’s Day to be a day of solidarity with the administrative detainee Hana Al-Shalabi and all female prisoners and women in the families of Palestinian prisoners, the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign is holding a solidarity vigil at the Spire on O’Connell Street, Dublin 1 from 4.30 to 6.30pm on Thursday 8th March. Hana’ has been on hunger strike for 20 twenty days in protest against the torture, assault and degrading treatment to which she has been subjected and against her ongoing detention without charge or trial. Hana’ was released under the prisoner swap last year, after being held without charge for two years. On 16 February, she was again interned without trial under Israel’s ‘Administrative Detention’ regime. |

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3..how a people who pride themselves on their superior intelligence can repeat the stupidity of internment without trial that was such an abortive policy when practised in this country. It seems they have just enough smarts to clone our documentation, but not quite enough to read our history.
Maybe Minister Shatter should give them a call. Tell them to stop digging. He should have a slight idea of how widespread Bobby Sands and his fellow prisoners actions gained respect...it certainly is unlikely to generate much pro-Israeli sympathy, already a depleting resource due to their rightward gallop.
Or maybe they just want to generate counter-terror in the forlorn hope they can hasbara/propagandise it into some form of justification for their ongoing ignorant and fascistic viciousness.
..paragons of democratic virtue are currently once more bombing the bejasus out of the Gaza strip...
