In an article in the "Sunday Tribune" on 25th July 2010, Conor McMorrow wrote about the "parachute candidate". The question that can now be asked is what the future holds and what is going to happen to the Labour Party in Sligo/N Leitrim, now that the general public and the dogs in the street, are aware that all is not well within the local party.? what a way to start an election campaign. The Al Jazeera website is reporting that Royal Dutch Shell is evacuating about 400 of the dependants of its expatriate staff from the Niger Delta to Lagos after fighters planted a car bomb in a residential compound earlier in the week.
