A few days ago I mentioned the great challenges humanity is currently facing. Intelligent life emerged on our planet approximately 200,000 years ago, although new discoveries demonstrate something else. This is not to confuse intelligent life with the existence of life which, from its elemental forms in our solar system, emerged millions of years ago. A virtually infinite number of life forms exist. In the sophisticated work of the world’s most eminent scientists the idea has already been conceived of reproducing the sounds which followed the Big Bang, the great explosion which took place more than 13.7 billion years ago. This introduction would be too extensive if it was not to explain the gravity of an event as unbelievable and absurd as the situation created in the Korean Peninsula, within a geographic area containing close to five billion of the seven billion persons currently inhabiting the planet. ... read full story / add a comment

The AP has revised its stylebook to no longer include the term Islamist. They explain why: "Islamist” is frequently used as a label for conservative Islamic political movements, particularly Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood . It generally carries a negative connotation" Has the AP thought that maybe it carries a negative connotation because fascistic movements – religious or otherwise – generally do? The disgusting Council on American-Islamic Relations which has previously lobbied AP to drop the term because they say it ”has become shorthand for ‘Muslims we don’t like’” and “is currently used in an almost exclusively pejorative context” is elated: We believe this revision is a step in the right direction and will result in fewer negative generalizations in coverage of issues related to Islam and Muslims." ... read full story / add a comment

The enthusiasm of people at a recent business offer presentation in the Dublin hotel was contagious. The queues for foreign jobs at a job fare was the opposite. A constant contagion of exploitation of those in need is evident in offers for opportunities offered. Job offers implied following training, the costs invested and the disappointment following discovering it to be not quite accurate have lead to increases in suffering and stress. The promise of cheap holidays and earnings from investing in this hope is growing tiresome. ... read full story / add a comment

The political agenda regarding foreign policy,is to continue to spend American resources on what is still far too much for Israel’s objectives (such as war with Syria and Iran), ; as these goings-on continue to motivate more dismantlement of American Constitutional liberties here at home (in order to get away with their forms of betrayal (treason) to our founding fathers’ American Creed (which is not protecting the Holy Land) and to true interests of the American peoples. We now continue to live within a tyranny of corrupt betrayal. So to ban the personal right to own rapid-fire weapons here in the United States could happen within this significant context of an ever-evolving totalitarian reality that continues to wrap its dangerous tentacles around our quickly dying freedoms. ... read full story / add a comment

The core of our proposal is the idea of adding value to agricultural production by conjugation with that of agro-industrial and industrial production, in order to increase farmers' income, the collection of taxes and return on investment of the national state, "deflating" major brazilian centers of all a well-known and extremely costly problem, from the perspective not only of public finances, but also from an emotional and humanitarian angle. ... read full story / add a comment

As a dozen car bombs exploded in Shia districts around Baghdad today, another 50 people are dead and many more injured, on the tenth anniversary of the US-UK invasion of Iraq. Britain's international legacy of hate continues, as yet another result of its poisonous, divide and conquer policies around the world it invaded, with the exception of just 10 countries. Sunni factions linked to al-Qaeda, continue attacks on Shias. A wing of al-Qaeda, has vowed to regain ground lost to the invading US/UK armies.A decade after US and British invaded, Iraq still struggles with fostered sectarian feuding among Shia, Sunni and Kurdish tribes..The cabinet has postponed elections in two provinces, Anbar and Nineve for six months because of violence there, further proof of absurdity of the invasion. ... read full story / add a comment

We are living in a society where the combination of fractional-reserve banking (lending out multiples of deposits) helped along by quantitative easing (printing almost unlimited quantities of money) based on fiat currencies (money without intrinsic value) has created exponential growth for the world’s financial elites. This led to unprecedented bubbles in the property market as banks made it easy for people to borrow more money than they would have been allowed in the past when a conservative banker guideline for a home buyer was to have a two to two and a half times mortgage-to-salary ratio. ... read full story / add a comment
