This page will contain updates and tips on how to stay health and any known measures to boost the immune system and help prevent getting ill from Covid if you are in he vulnerable group. The key advice though is to boost your immune system by taking Vitamin C and Zinc. Vitamin D which can be generated by your body's skin in sunshine is also very good and is well known to protect. Getting outdoors into fresh air and walking, hiking or swimming are all also excellent ways to improve your immunity. Eating good nutritious food rather than junk food is another important component of boosting your immune system. read full story / add a comment

This page holds videos of interest to help decipher what is going on politically and globally with the Covid crisis.

As people know the world economy has been more or less put in lockdown and if you wanted to crash it then this is how you would do it. Also anyone paying attention to the numbers will realize the government are lying outright and talking up the numbers and grossly exaggerating how deadly it is. It is so far no worse than the flu which of course kills many each year

The bio-weapon angle has come up multiple times and has gone as high as a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry saying that the virus was genetically created and was a bio-weapon of some kind. People at that level of officialdom don't say things like that without backing from people higher up the chain of command.

Sally Maaz (17) died in Mayo University Hospital on April 24. Her cousin speaks out in this video.

What has happened here is criminal and requires investigation although this is unlikely to be done in any honest way given the blatant lies and propaganda around this Covid crisis.

Sally was moved to the #COVIDー19 ward even though she tested NEGATIVE twice. 1/14

The current shutdown of the economy and lockdown of society all around the world is unprecedented and it is very clear that the media are talking up the number and trying to instil panic and fear in the people. This is true not just in Ireland but everywhere else. What all the media reports have in common is that not a single one of them puts the numbers into perspective. All we see are league tables of infections and deaths for this country and others and how it is all going to get worse.

Update: The common flu causes up to 5 million cases of severe illness worldwide and kills up to 650,000 people every year, according to the World Health Organization

The Nevin Economic Research Institute (NERI) one of the few non right wing think tanks regularly produces interesting reports, research and other information. Information that is key to understanding what is happening in our society and how various socio economic factors are trending.

In a recent "In Brief" four page report that they have done on work, they analysis the risk of poverty rates across the broad categories of employment in Ireland. One of it's key findings is that: deprivation rates are higher in 2017 than in the years leading up to the crisis, including for full-time, permanent staff. The analysis also shows that for all but one of the seven categories, Irish employees in 2017 were less likely to be able to meet an unexpected expense (of approximately €1,000) than before the financial crisis.

This blog entry from 16th Sept on the ShannonWatch.org website is reproduced here because while it might seem old news one week late, it will in fact be news to a lot of people since the mainstream just don't cover this, certainly not from the side of peace perspective.

The following was written by Veteran for Peace activist Tarak Kauff who is currently being refused permission to leave Ireland. He is accused of minor offenses linked to the attempt he and Ken MAyers made to inspect a US contracted military plane at Shannon Airport. read full story / add a comment

Housing prices are skyrocketing in cities around the world. Incomes are not. Private equity firms have become the biggest landlords in the world, and the extent of the high-end land grab goes well beyond gentrification. Fredrik Gertten’s probing documentary follows Leilani Farha, the UN Special Rapporteur on Adequate Housing as she travels the world in an effort to understand why we are being pushed out of our cities, and why affordable housing isn’t defined as a fundamental human right.

This screening will be followed by a panel discussion. read full story / add a comment

Overinvestment in oil and gas creates risks for investors, regardless of whether the world is effective in tackling climate change. Either investors face assets being stranded as demand for fossil fuels falls in a transition to a low carbon economy, or the overinvestment contributes to excess emissions from fossil fuels, the failure to transition and the financial costs of a dramatically changed climate. read full story / add a comment

Julian Assange who helped setup Wikileaks and in one of the first set of leaks revealed the murderous campaign of the US military against innocent civilians in Iraq amongst many other leaks showing the systematic criminality and inhumanity of the US government was betrayed this morning by the right wing corrupt president Lenin Moreno of Ecuador. Former Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa – whose government granted Assange asylum in 2012 – branded his more pro-US successor Lenin Moreno the “greatest traitor in Ecuadorian history” for rescinding the asylum claim and allowing British officers to enter his country’s embassy.

At the moment in a damage limitation exercise to try and shutdown support for Assange the corporate press is saying if charged, he could face up to 5 years in prison. This is to make it not so bad, but we can be 100% sure if deported to the USA, they will have a long list of dubious charges and most likely will give him a prison sentence that will more than easily cover the rest of his lifespan for that is the way of such regimes. read full story / add a comment

THIS IS OUR LAST CHANCE TO OVERTURN THE EU COPYRIGHT REFORM

In September 2018, MEPs voted for a version of the copyright Directive which will indirectly lead to implementing upload filters on most of the services you use online. The European Parliament’s (EP) Legal Affairs (JURI) Committee Rapporteur, MEP Axel Voss, then started the ‘trilogue negotiations’ – closed-door ‘informal’ negations with the representatives of the EU Member States (Council) and the European Commission (EC). These negotiations resulted in a trilogue agreement in Mid-February 2019. Despite massive criticism, the text has been made even worse than the EP’s proposal. read full story / add a comment

The Workers’ Party have accused Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney of prioritising Donald Trump’s foreign policy ahead of Irish neutrality. Cllr. Éilis Ryan, the Workers’ Party candidate in May’s European Parliament elections, said:

“Simon Coveney has, for the first time in our history, given formal backing to United States overseas aggression. Successive governments under Fianna Fáil, Labour and the Green Party have facilitated US overseas aggression by allowing the use of Shannon Airport, but this move marks a new departure, leaving behind even the facade of neutrality.

“It flies in the face of the values of anti-colonialism and sovereignty which Irish people are so rightly proud of.” read full story / add a comment
