On Wednesday, 4 May, at 11am, Irish multinational CRH will hold their Annual General Meeting in the Royal Marine Hotel, Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign plan a highly visual photo-friendly protest outside the venue, featuring a mock checkpoint with soldiers, scale model wall, and a 'human wall'. This is a call out to all solidarity activists to turn up on the morning and become part of a striking human wall along Marine Road. The wall will symbolise the illegal separation wall built by Israel in the occupied West Bank and will highlight CRH’s involvement with the wall and settlements. read full story / add a comment

It's calamity enough for Ireland to lose its sovereignty to the IMF and EU through economic treason without salt being rubbed into our debt slavery wounds with further abasement, but that's in store for us in May or at least for those who spinelessly acquiesce and exult in the visits of two totems of imperial power, one an out and out war criminal. read full story / add a comment

The people of Ireland should consider a Boycott in relation the upcoming Census in April 2011.
The reason I say this is that the company contracted to carry out the Census is CACI UK who
are a subsidiary of CACI international which through its various outsourcing has been accused
of contributing to the torture of prisoners in Abu Ghraib in Iraq, something I myself am not happy
about, and it will be one of the reason's why I will not be completing the Census form this time. read full story / add a comment

Recent events in Japan and revelations by wikileaks regarding the nefarious and corrupt activities of the nuclear industry working in India should be a wake up call for those considering the arguments of vested interests who are quietly pushing the nuclear agenda in our media. FF, FG, Labour, ex-PDs, and other shades of establishement opinion are putting themselves forward as 'independents' in the upcoming election to Seanad Éireann. The mask of 'disability campaigner' or 'human rights advocate' is unfortunately the last refuge of some of them. This is most obvious on the university constituencies. Here I have outlined the party loyalties of some of them. read full story / add a comment
