Now the US mercenaries try to silence rt.com. Full text at link.

RT.com was temporarily disabled Monday for just under five hours by a DDoS attack. It coincided with RT's reporting on the trial of Bradley Manning and massive anti-government protests in Turkey, with coverage continuing uninterrupted on Twitter. The attack, claimed by anti-WikiLeaks hacker group AntiLeaks, also came as RT celebrated its status as the first international news agency to reach one billion views on YouTube. read full story / add a comment

The recent Wallace Shatter story was overshadowed by the stories of those people protesting for justice in their cases. The majority of the protestors have been protesting for years and have indisputable evidence of criminal wrongdoing against them. read full story / add a comment

It is no accident that the western world is facing a mental health crisis. Science and technology have brought civilisation to a bold new frontier but many of us are out of sync with the soul. An over emphasis on material growth hasn’t been balanced with the human need for meaning and the desire to be free. It has imprisoned our spirits and left many of us disconnected from our true selves, from each other, and from the natural world around us. read full story / add a comment

Explaining his decision to vote against the Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Bill which Minister Howlin introduced as a big stick for the unions whose memberships reject the Haddington Road sell out Joe Higgins TD said:

“This bill essentially affords the government as an employer an amount of power over certain public sector employees that no other employer enjoys in law. It is a throwback to the days of William Martin Murphy.

“Regardless of the rotten ‘yes’ stand of some union leaders with regard to the Haddington Road Agreement it is a scandal that they and ICTU are either silent on the passing of this oppressive legislation or worse that they use it as a means of scaring their members to voting ‘yes’ to this re-hash of Croke Park 2.

“I support the efforts of the No 2 Croke Park 2 campaign in helping co-ordinate the rank and file opposition to this pay deal and to this draconian bill that has been rushed through the Dáil. read full story / add a comment

Dear Friends,

We are writing to you in these most difficult and challenging times as regards BNP's
planned march from Woolwich to Lewisham Islamic Centre on Saturday, 1 June 2013.
As you will be aware, the aim and purpose of the march to conclude in our Borough
and outside our Centre is to create discord, division and disunity amongst the
people of the of this great Borough. This is not just an attack on Islam, it is an
attack on community cohesion, diversity and everything we all stand for. We are one
Borough and we are the majority and we must not allow these fringe expressions of
hatred incited by groups such as the BNP and EDL start to flourish on our doorstep. read full story / add a comment

A few evenings ago, as the sky began to darken here in Kabul, Afghanistan, a small group of the Afghan Peace Volunteers, (APVs), gathered for an informal presentation about WikiLeaks, its chief editor Julian Assange, and its most prominent contributor, Bradley Manning. Basir Bita, a regular visitor to the APV household, began the evening’s discussion noting that June 1st will mark the beginning of Bradley Manning’s fourth year in prison. Two days later his trial will begin, a trial which could sadly result in his imprisonment for a life sentence. June 1st also begins an international week of support and solidarity, aimed at thanking Bradley Manning. #ThankManning! read full story / add a comment
