Legislative Analyst and Writer Arthur Stopes, III, of Berkeley, California state, has analysed the legalities of the threat to extradite Julian Assange to the United States, particularly with respect to the limits of federal law, and has reached the following conclusion: "Extradition, in view of the LIMITED jurisdiction of the over-vaunted "Espionage Act", is unwarranted in the extreme." The 12 Days of CRHistmas is a series of Monty Python-inspired videos created by the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign for its Stop Cementing Misery campaign - http://www.ipsc.ie/crhdivest. The videos are designed to create public awareness in Ireland of CRH’s involvement in building the illegal apartheid wall in Palestine. CRH owns a 25% share in Israeli cement company Mashav, which is building both the wall and illegal settlements. The latest IMF report, published last Friday, two days after the gombeens in Leinster House voted to accept the deal, reveals plans to reintroduce third level fees, abolish the current grant scheme for low income students and replace it with a loan scheme to pay for fees and confirms that child benefit will be means tested. SIPTU supported the Strabane Trades Council in a rally against cuts to the public and community sector. The rally was held at 2pm on Saturday 11th December in the town’s Castle Street, catching the attention of hundreds of busy Christmas shoppers. SIPTU organiser Teri Cregan has criticised Boots over their tax avoidance of £86 million annually. The Trade Union official lambasted the company for their, ‘huge tax avoidance when the public and community sector are being hit by all manner of cuts.’ Boots, who recorded over £1bn profit last year, were able to avoid the payment, due to a tax loop hole.
