Behnoud Shojaee and Akram Mahdavi are scheduled to be executed in Evin prison this Sunday October 11 which falls one day after the International Day Against Execution. Some reports say that they may be executed tomorrow. Another juvenile,Safar Angooti is scheduled to be executed on October 21st. I notice that the usual posters who would be calling for sanctions on Israel for alleged and actual human rights abuses have absolutely nothing to say about the execution of teenagers in Iran or the rape and torture that goes on at Evin prison. Of course, hypocrisy is an unknown concept to the Israel-hating Irish far-left.

On Sunday, one day after the International Day against the Death Penalty, the Islamic Republic of Iran executed juvenile offender Behnoud at dawn despite the widespread international and national campaign to save his life. He was executed whilst hundreds had gathered in his defence outside Evin prison in Tehran, including his family and the mothers of those killed and disappeared.

The Islamic regime has stepped up its machinery of executions and stonings, including sentencing four protesters from the recent protests to death for fear of the unfolding revolutionary movement in Iran.

Its execution of Behnoud and the threat of execution of others must be met with worldwide outrage and condemnation.

Has the so called U N Human Rights Council

voted on this ?

Or has the IPSC or Raymond Deane or David Landy

or Senators David Norris or Ivana Bacik -those great defenders

of the freedom of the individual marched in Dublin yet ?

I have not seen them on the streets --have you ?

Senators Bacik & Norris & David landy are supporters of Hands Off the People of Iran. HOPI opposes any outside intervention in Iran and also calls for regime change from within Iran and from below. The Iranian People must decide their own destiny.

David Norris in particular has long been a thorn in the side of the Iranian Regime. He has a record of supporting Iranian dissidents and of highlighting Human Rights abuses in Iran.

Our campaign demands are:

No to imperialist war! For the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of US/UK troops from Iraq and the entire Gulf region!

No to any imperialist intervention. The immediate and unconditional end to sanctions on Iran.!

No to the theocratic regime!

Opposition to Israeli expansionism and aggression!

Support to all working class and progressive struggles in Iran against poverty and repression!

Support for socialism, democracy and workers' control in Iran!

For a nuclear-free Middle East as a step towards a nuclear-free world!

What exactly do you want them to do? Launch a commando raid on Iranian prisons?

Iran does not currently possess nuclear weapons. Israel however does. I think you should address your complaints to Israel as well regarding the risk of nuclear radiation in the Middle East. A Nuclear Free Middle East means just that: All Countries Renouncing The Use, Storage And Manufacture Of Nuclear Weapons.

Iran is executing innocent juveniles --- IRAN

Let them spend at least two minutes dealing with that

author by pat cpublication date Mon Nov 16, 2009 15:56author address author phone Report this post to the editors

Another execution in Iran. A travesty of justice, read the full story at the link. Just as Mumia is innocent
Ehsan was innocent.

Iranian authorities executed Ehsan Fattahian by hanging at Sanandaj Central Prison sometime between 6:30 and 7 a.m. on November 11, 2009. Nasrollah Nasri, Fattahian's lawyer, told Human Rights Watch one hour after the sentence was carried out that he and Fattahian's family had believed authorities would grant him a last-minute reprieve, considering the irregularities in the trial and the lack of solid evidence against the defendant. "We are shocked, Nasri said. He did not deserve death. Even his initial ten-year prison sentence was unfair.

Nasri added that the judicial authorities refused to allow Fattahian's family to visit him before they carried out the execution.
