category national | arts and media | press release author Friday January 25, 2008 10:00author by Sarah Lundberg - The Seven Towers Agencyauthor email sarah at seventowers dot ieauthor phone 0872283351 Report this post to the editors

The Seven Towers Agency and Chapters Bookstore are delighted to announce Chapters and Verse 2008 series of readings for 2008

Chapters and Verse 2008 is part of the continuing series of lunch time readings organised by The Seven Towers Agency and held in Chapters Bookstore which commenced in 2007.

These readings involve writers represented by and published by The Seven Towers Agency and writers published by other independent publishers, such as Doghouse and Salmon publishing and include all genres and fields of literature from poetry, through novels to travel writing.

The readings will take place on the first and third Wednesday of every month at 1.15pm, with the next one taking place on Wednesday 6th February 2008. They usually last 30-40 minutes and have two or more readers. On Wednesday 6th February 2008, poets Ross Hattaway and Noel Ó Briain will read alongside playwright and novelist Oran Ryan.

Chapters and Verse
Reading and Market Evening

An exciting new addition in Chapters and Verse 2008 is the monthly Chapters and Verse Celebration of Literature Evening which will occur on the evening of the second Thursday of each month from 6pm and will incorporate a number of short readings along will ‘stalls’ where Independent and small publishers can sell books that it would normally be difficult to find a prominent outlet for. The First of these events will take place on Thursday 14th February from 6.30pm.

The readings are part of The Seven Towers Agency’s on going commitment to perform quality works of literature in public places and
They also draw people’s attention to the quality literature by Irish publishers available on the market and which the publishers need to sell to enable them to continue publishing quality literature.

The events are also indicative of the commitment of Chapters Bookstore, Ireland’s largest Independent Bookstore, to Irish writings and to Independent publishers and The Seven Towers Agency is grateful to Chapters Bookstore for their ongoing support and enthusiasm regarding these readings.

In 2008 we will continue with our practice of inviting a variety of published writers to read at Chapters and Verse.

More details will be available on the Seven Towers website at www.seventowers.ie and on the Chapters and Verse my space page www.myspace.com/chaptersandverse where readers and listeners alike can add comments after each evening.

The Seven Towers Agency is a creative arts agency that focuses on new artists from any genre. It is also a small publisher and an independent record label. And further details are available from Sarah at 00353087-2283351 or on [email protected].
