Óglaigh na hÉireann New Year's Statement

category national | miscellaneous | press release author Monday January 07, 2008 17:55author by Kevin Murphy - 32CSM Report this post to the editors

New year statement from the IRA

The following statement was issued anonymously to The Sovereign Nation.

The leadership of Óglaigh na hÉireann send new year’s greetings to all our friends and supporters both nationally and internationally. We also extend special greetings to our volunteers who have remained faithful to their oath and to their constitution, and to all POW's who have stood resolute in the face of the on-going criminalisation process in Maghaberry and Free State internment in Portlaoise. Our thoughts are with you and your families at this time, you remain an inspiration to the republican base.

Once again the constitutional nationalist and establishment parties are attempting to sell the lie that the RUC/PSNI are a civic police force, the IRA stand by our assertion, and this has been borne out by recent events, that the RUC/PSNI are primarily a political police force whose primary function is to protect British interests in Ireland. It is for this reason that the IRA have carried out a number of attacks against the British police in Ireland, these attacks will continue.

Óglaigh na hÉireann advise political and community leaders to desist from the practice of assisting, and urging others to assist the RUC/PSNI, those who do so are clearly making the choice to align themselves with the enemy. The repercussions of assisting the enemy are clear and those who do so bear full responsibility for any action that may be taken against them.

The last year has seen a marked increase in the activities of MI5 inspired counter gangs masquerading as republicans, these gangs will be seen for what they are by the republican base and their attempts to bring the republican movement into disrepute will not be tolerated. Such counter gangs exist to sow discord and confusion within republicanism.
It is also clear that such groups are behind an increase in sectarian attacks across the six counties, sectarianism is anathema to republicanism and serves the interests of British imperialism in Ireland, not the republican position.

Óglaigh na hÉireann exist to defend the republic and we reject all British attempts to implement the long held policy of Ulsterisation, criminalisation and Normalisation.
The Irish Republican Army will continue to carry out armed attacks against the British military and political apparatus in Ireland and those who assist in anyway their illegal occupation

Glancing at the happy new year statement of you oglaigh folk I noticed this tidbit veiled threat: " The repercussions of assisting the enemy are clear..."

Yup fellows, 'tis clear as muck that anybody who joins or assists the PSNI will be accosted by someone of a dark evening who will steal up on the unsuspecting malefactor, blow a raspberry and skedaddle afore they're recognised. That bit of manners will just be a mild reprimand, mind you. Any cop found riding a bicycle will have the air of his front tyre let out. Another mild reprimand. Three strikes and they're out. What's a severe reprimand like?

Anti agreement activist paddy Murray, Dungiven, Co Derry isn't getting too much New year cheer from such statements is he? Wii all members of the Republican family be dumped when PSF/Mi5 etc swing into action via their medi cheerleaders. I hope not.

Has anyone given Murray a hearing at all? Where is the support from the Republican family for him or his family against the power and might of British intelligence and sad but true the new apparatus of the securacrats PSF?

Get real oglaigh and show some wit when it comes to the Brits and the new Anglo Irelanders in the north of Ireland. There is only one way as far as these people are concerned and it is North of Ireland remaining under british jurisdiction with the assistance of Irish Republicans - PSF.

This article concerning Murray by Alison morris is published on Newshound pity the 32 CSM don't publish similar articles and release their views on the matter as well.

I'm not a police spy says top dissident

(Allison Morris, Irish News)

Paddy Murray High-profile dissident republican Paddy Murray has denied being a police informer ahead of his sentencing later this month on charges of kidnapping and assault.

In November last year Murray (45), pictured, pleaded guilty to charges relating to the assault of Antrim man Kevin Martin Gillen in September 2005.

However, his court appearance was overshadowed by claims that he was in protective police custody having been outed by former republican associates as a Real IRA informant.

Despite being freed on continuing bail ahead of his sentencing next week, Murray was escorted back to the cells at Belfast Crown Court by prison officers.

The Police Ombudsman is investigating allegations that the PSNI failed to charge Murray despite DNA being found on incendiary devices recovered in Ballymena, Co Antrim, in 2005.

Murray, who was sentenced to 25 years for possession of an IRA bomb in 1994, was arrested in connection with the Ballymena bomb factory but released without charge.

Speaking for the first time since the allegations Murray said: "The so-called forensic evidence that has been talked about so much was Low Copy Number DNA.

"After the Omagh trial LCN DNA evidence has been totally discredited so that rules that theory out.

"It doesn't make me an informer. It just means there was no evidence to charge me."

The veteran republican, originally from west Belfast, has lived in Antrim town with his partner and two young children since his release from prison under the Good Friday Agreement in 2000.

Following his release he began working for Sinn Féin as an election agent for Martin Meehan, who died of a heart attack last November.

Murray later became involved with dissident republicans and has been linked to the Real IRA.

He also helped organised meetings opposing Sinn Féin's stance on policing.

"I believe I have been targeted because of my past history with Sinn Féin. If they can use this tactic to get rid of me successfully then they'll use it again with other anti-agreement republicans," Murray said.

"Recent events have been stage managed for maximum public effect and I can understand why people would think there is no smoke without fire.

"But what I would say is – where is the evidence?

"As part of my bail conditions police objected to me entering Derry. Now surely if I was an agent they would have wanted me in Derry meeting other republicans and gathering information.

"If I was an agent then why haven't I taken my family and gone into protective custody?"
