Freedom for small Nation states

Irish Republicans will join Scottish, Basque, and Breton Republicans and socialists tojoin together to demand the end of the British state in Edinburgh on 2nd July, at the same time as the 'Make Poverty History' demonstrations.

Scottish, Basque, Breton and Irish Republicans and socialists will be joining together to demand the end of the British state in Edinburgh on 2nd July, at the same time as the 'Make Poverty History' demonstrations.

SSP, SCND and Independence First are all providing speakers for the event and they will speak alongside representatives from the Basque County and Ireland.

JOHN PATRICK, a national SSP Spokesperson, commented:

"The SSP is fully committed to an independent socialist Scotland and the break up of the British union along with solidarity with oppressed nations and cultures worldwide. The dismantling of the British state would be a massive blow to the G8 and would give Scotland a chance to make the break from poverty and subservience."

The Scottish Republican Socialist Movement are organising the meeting. DONALD ANDERSON, a member of the SRSM’s Ard Fheis commented:

“We have a straight choice of having our human rights eroded within Britain or having a free and independent Scottish republic which has genuine respect and friendship with other nations.”

“While Scotland is locked into the British State we will remain powerless to effect radical change internally and Scotland’s voice will remain silent on the international stage. It’s time to break it up, making Britain history would be a big step forward for democracy and an inspiration to other national independence movements all around the world.”

JOE MIDDLETON commented on behalf of Independence First, the campaign for a referendum on independence (http://www.independence1st.com) :

“The cause of independence requires maximum unity amongst its supporters. Together, we can and will win our rights to self determination through independence, the normal status of most other countries around the world.”

two teenage boys and an 82 year old woman "sinking without trace" doesn't bother Bazza at all.

That name certainly is a blast from the past . Not to worry Dickie old bean , I imagine jolly old sellafield and its reassuring safety record will make Ireland history a lot sooner than trident will . A bit odd to see a man like yourself referring to boats with bombs given your unfortunate maritime history on ourr shores but there you go .

As for mike the Basques have every right to support whatever cause they choose . They have been good friends to Irish people over the years supplying the boyos with all manner of goodies from time to time . I suggest the British parliament should withdraw its troops and feck off back to where they came from .

The sooner the malignant little carbuncle known as Britain breaks up and sinks without trace just like Mountbattens little boat the better .

What the fuck have the Basques have to do with ending the United Kingdom (not Britain)?

May I suggest they feck off back to Spain and make peace with Madrid.

One of our Trident boats could do it....
