The former boss of Waitrose, Lord Price, has blamed lockdowns for annihilating the will of many Britons to go to work. Many workers are now fixated on maximising sick pay and doing as little as possible.

The working class are coming under massive attack at the hands of both Westminster and The Stormont Executive.

From the Welfare Reform Bill to the most recent Stormont budget, Sinn Feín despite putting up symbolic opposition are in fact conceding to savage austerity cuts by maintaining their presence in the Stormont executive.

As revolutionary republicans, RNU cannot remain silent as Sinn Feín, the party which claims the legacy of James Connolly provide legitimacy to a process which threatens the welfare, security and indeed the lives of thousands of working class people across the north.
£4 Billion is to be cut from public services, thanks to a budget which Sinn Fein MLAs directly voted for and will implement.

The Welfare Reform Bill which will throw thousands of already vulnerable families into appalling poverty and force many out of their homes, raised from Sinn Feín only a promise to try and ‘offset its effects’ though job creation and training schemes. This is a hollow response in the face of such a crisis and fails to address the injustice of austerity cuts.

Sinn Fein claim to be revolutionaries, still they are content to be the window dressing on a government which practices brutal financial cuts on Irish communities, Protestant and Catholic alike.

We say, it would be better for the Stormont executive to fall rather than Thatcherite policy appearing to have the consent of Irish republicans.

Sinn Feín should pull back from the brink now, withdraw their presence and subsequent support from these measures. They should return to the drawing board with the rest of Irish republicanism and put Socialism back on the agenda.

I honestly feel that this is almost like calling on the DUP to walk out of stormont at this stage of the game.

I am surprised by this to be honest. As an organisation that is attempting to build a republican alternative, a revolutionary one , a socialist one i think you should just forget about Sinn Fein.

focus on attracting the irish youth that havent already emigrated to revolutionary- anti establishment- republicanism and forget about former comrades who remain within sinn fein. time to move on.

sinn fein are pretending to be against cuts in 26 counties and implementing them in the occupied 6 counties. they are reformists. holding out hope that some within in sinn fein might eventually see the light is looking backwards not forwards.

sinn fein wouldnt even call publiclly for a boycott for the anti household tax until last minute untill they saw the ground they could lose in electoralist terms. they are careerists, oppurtunists and not even remotely republican, nevermind being socialist. they may have a republican history but thats all it is...history.

While real republicans will commemorate those who fought in the rising , Sinn fein is more than likely going to use easter to issue an apology for the war.
