Saturday November 26, 2011 00:14 by Ban Hare Coursing Now
Following confirmation by the government that the staghunt ban will remain, it's time now to outlaw hare coursing also With the ban on carted stag hunting safe, for the foreseeable future anyway, it's surely time to re-visit the horrific so-called "sport" of live hare coursing, last debated fully in the Dail back in 1993 when Tony Gregory tried valiantly to persuade his fellow TDs to accept his Private Members Bill to abolish it. There are two ways this could be done...the government could include a ban in the forthcoming Animal Welfare Bill, or it could accept a Bill moved by an opposition TD having the same aim. However it happens, this shameful abuse of the Irish Hare by a small, cruelty-worshipping minority, should be brought to an end. http://banbloodsports.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/bad-h...s.pdf
